DC Gyalshing Chairs Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 and ABP Meeting at DAC Conference Hall Gyalshing
Gyalshing, February 27 (IPR): The District Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, graced the meeting on Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 and Aspirational Block Programme, Chongrang Block at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre(DAC), Gyalshing,today, which had the presence of Ms Jaya Devi, Mr S Bansal and Ms Shivani Srivastava,State Coordinators,(Aspirational Block Programme, Sikkim) NITI Aayog.
The programme was attended by Ms Shanti Limboo Chairperson Sikkim Consumer Cooperative Society,Mr Surat Kumar Gurung ADC (Dev) Gyalshing, Mr Pema G Bhutia CEO/Education, Mr HB Shanker CDPO-Cum-Dy Director ICDS, Dr Karma C Bhutia Deputy Director Agriculture, Dr Pramoda Gurung Deputy Director AH&VS, Mr Pradeep Sharma Principal Gerethang SSS,Ms Geeta Kumari Gurung BDO Chongrang, Mr Prashant Sharma BTM Agriculture, Dr Joshbina Thapa VO DVH, Dr Pranisha Chettri VO Tashiding and Mr Sangay Tamang District Coordinator.
Addressing the house,DC Gyalshing extended profound gratitude to the state coordinators from NITI Aayog for the support extended so far towards the Gyalshing district for its development. He expressed his optimistic hopes to achieve the goals of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 and assured that the Block will soon saturate all Key Performance Indicators. He also requested NITI Aayog coordinators for their fullest cooperation to achieve the target.
Highlighting the achievement of Animal Husbandry and Veterinery Services from 5.4 to 100% of saturation point in just one week, he urged all the department heads to work in coordination for the development of the block. He also focused on the problems faced by different departments and urged the submission of a weekly progress report from each one of them. Despite being the farthest and remotest district of all, Gyalshing has been tirelessly working to come forward,he added.
Earlier in the meeting, Mr Karma Chogyal Bhutia, Aspirational Block Fellow, showcased a presentation with the latest data showing key performance indicators in different aspects like health, nutrition, education, agriculture and allied, basic infrastructure and social development showing both block and NITI Aayog data.
During the presentation, a fruitful question-and-answer session was conducted. Questions were raised on the problems faced by Anganwadi Centres/ ICDS for home visits and in dealing with Specially Abled Children in the block.Further,the problem faced in Aadhar identification was also discussed.
Discussing key performance indicators in the education sector, the house discussed about the problems faced by schools in the field of sanitation.To come up with the solution,provision for a continuous water supply was given priority.
Further, it was also informed by the Aspirational Block Fellow that there is a special educator for Specially Abled Children who visits different schools and educates them.
Discussing key performance indicators in social development sector,the house discussed about the activities carried out by Self Gelp Groups(SHGs). Mr Gokul Gurung, APM SRLM, stated that SHGs has been working for organic production, but due to the absence of a testing centre, they are not being able to rise up to the global market. The house discussed problems related to branding and packaging as well.
Ms Shanti Limboo, chairperson of Sikkim Consumer Cooperative Society, suggested a comprehensive training programme for cost analysis and branding.
Mr Karma C Bhutia also highlighted on different works done by the District Administration, Gyalshing, under Sampoornata Abhiyan for 100% saturation of different indicators.

Health camps - 20+
Supplementary nutrition - 100% saturation for the months of August and September.
