DC Gyalshing Chairs Coordination Meeting for 4th Annual Mani Thungdub Ceremonial Ritual

Gyalshing, September 01 (IPR): District Collector, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, chaired a coordination meeting today at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Centre, Gyalshing, in preparation for the forthcoming 4th Annual Mani Thongdub Ceremonial Ritual.
The sacred ritual is scheduled to be held at Chenrezig Shingkham Riwo Potala, Sangngag Choeling Monastery, Pelling, from 12th to 19th September, 2026. The event is being organised by the Mani Thungdup Chenmo, Chenrezig Shingkham Rewo Potala, Sangngag Choeling Monastery.
The meeting was convened to ensure effective coordination and cooperation among various departments and stakeholders for the smooth and successful conduct of the ceremonial ritual. Representatives from concerned departments and stakeholders actively participated in the discussions and deliberated on key arrangements, including safety and security, traffic management, health facilities, environmental protection, sanitation and cleanliness and other logistical requirements during the event.
The District Collector highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of the annual Mani Thongdub Ceremonial Ritual, which is expected to draw a large number of devotees and visitors from across the state. He urged all concerned departments and stakeholders to maintain close coordination and communication and extend their full cooperation to ensure that the ceremony is conducted in a peaceful, orderly and well organised manner, providing a meaningful experience for devotees and visitors.
The meeting was attended by Senior SP, Gyalshing, Ms Paru Ruchal; Additional SP, Mr Sonam Wangdi Bhutia; Additional Director, Agriculture Department, Mr Karma Sherpa; SE, Power Department, Mr Jai Prakash Subba; DFO (T), Mr Jigmee Tshewang Sharngoe; DPO, Gyalshing, Mr Pem Dorjee Bhutia; JD, Tourism, Mr Biswa B. Raj Gurung; DIO, Gyalshing, Mr Rajen Tamang; Administrator cum President of the Organising Committee, Mr Nawang Gampu Bhutia, along with representatives from various departments and other stakeholders.
