DACS Presents Dividend to CM, Discusses Boost to Poultry Marketing in Sikkim

Gangtok, March 9: The Denzong Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd. (DACS) presented a dividend cheque of ₹25,26,000 to the State Government. The cheque was handed over to the Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, by the Managing Director of DACS, Shri Dhiraj Pradhan.
The Chief Minister commended the leadership and members of the cooperative for their dedication and responsible governance, noting that their efforts have significantly contributed to the welfare of farmers and the broader community.
During the meeting, it was also shared that DACS has been working diligently to strengthen the marketing of locally produced poultry by poultry growers’ cooperative societies in Sikkim. The society is also supplying poultry products to the Army and paramilitary forces stationed in the state.
Discussions were also held on revising the rates of live poultry birds starting from April, as well as on the proposal to establish a frozen poultry processing plant in the state. The State Government has assured that land will be provided to facilitate the establishment of the plant.
The proposed initiative is expected to further strengthen poultry marketing in the state while creating greater opportunities for farmers and other stakeholders in the cooperative sector.
