Coordination Meeting Held at BAC, Passingdang, Dzongu

Dzongu, 20th February 2026: In pursuance of the vision and direction of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, for strengthening rural governance and enhancing effective public outreach, and in alignment with the commitment and developmental vision of the Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA, Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, a coordination meeting was convened at the Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Passingdang, Dzongu.
The meeting, being the first of its kind, was organised with the objective of strengthening coordination among the ADC (Development) Office, BAC, and the Gram Panchayat Kendras (GPKs).
The programme was attended by Dr. Sonam Rinchen Lepcha, ADC (Development), Mangan; Dr. Mahendra Tamang, Block Development Officer, Passingdang; the Assistant Engineer, BAC Passingdang; Junior Engineers (JEs); Assistant District Programme Coordinators (ADPCs); Panchayat Inspectors (PIs); Senior Village Administrative Assistants (Sr. VAAs); Village Administrative Assistants (VAAs); Panchayat Development Assistants (PDAs); Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRS); and officials and staff of BAC, Passingdang.
The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance institutional coordination and teamwork among the ADC Office, BAC, and GPKs for effective implementation of developmental programmes at the grassroots level. Emphasis was laid on collective responsibility, improved work culture, adherence to values and ethics, and accountability of government functionaries working at the field level. Discussions were also held on optimal utilisation of available resources and manpower, and on the effective implementation of various flagship programmes of the Government.
In his block report, Dr. Mahendra Tamang presented a comprehensive overview of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of the Block and outlined a roadmap for scientific planning and effective implementation of schemes through coordinated efforts of all officials and staff under the Rural Development Department at the block level.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Sonam Rinchen Lepcha, ADC (Development), emphasised the importance of strong team spirit and a systemic approach in translating the vision of the Government into tangible outcomes at the grassroots level. He highlighted the need to identify and bridge existing gaps and urged all officials and staff to discharge their duties with dedication, determination, and commitment in the larger interest of the rural populace.
The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of the Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA towards inclusive and sustainable development of Dzongu constituency, with special focus on strengthening grassroots institutions, ensuring transparency in implementation of schemes, and accelerating socio-economic progress of rural communities in line with the overall vision of the State Government.
Sectional in-charges of MGNREGA, SBM-G, and Administration also made detailed presentations on the scope, guidelines, and procedural aspects of various schemes at the district and block levels. The meeting concluded with deliberations on issues and challenges faced during the implementation and adoption of a coordinated working framework to further strengthen rural governance in the Block.
