Gangtok, July 3 (IPR): Mr. Arun Kumar Upreti Minister for the Cooperation Department & Rural Development Department chaired a coordination meeting at the conference hall of the Department in Tadong, today.
In his address, the Minister expressed gratitude to the department for their warm welcome and emphasized the importance of coordination to uplift the department's operations.
He applauded the Chief Minister’s vision of ‘Sunaulo Sikkim, Samriddha Sikkim’ and encouraged the officials to collaborate closely with the State Government. He further stressed the need for teamwork and dedication among the officials.
The Minister underscored the need to focus on rural upliftment to successfully implement departmental initiatives. He urged the Head of Department to ensure that new appointees work to their full potential and to monitor employee regularity.
In her welcome address, Commissioner-cum- Secretary, Ms. Yashoda Bhandari thanked the Minister for his presence in the meeting. She highlighted the department's role, initiatives, and activities, and also highlighted the work of the Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies.
Ms Gloria Namchu, Secretary, of the Cooperation Department, gave a presentation introducing the department and elaborating on its role. She highlighted the department's achievements and outlined the roles and responsibilities of the Apex Societies.
The programme also had the presence of Ms Jabi Thapa Principal Registrar, Managing Directors from different Apex Societies along with the officers and staff of the department.
