Cleanliness drive under Paryavaran Parva organised at DAC Mangan
Mangan, July 05 (IPR) : A cleanliness drive under the aegis of Paryavaran Parva was organised by the Forest & Environment Department, Mangan at the District Administrative Complex Pentok, today. The drive was carried out from DAC up to Pentok.
The event saw the participation of DC Mangan Mr Anant Jain (IAS), SP Mangan Mr Sonam Detchu Bhutia, ADM Mr Vishu Lama, DFO (T) Mr Tseten Lachungpa, DFO (Environment and Soil Conservation) Mr Zigdal Lachenpa, ACF (T) Mr Manzil Kharel, ACFs (Env) Mr Lalit Rai and Ms Seema Basnett ,ACF (Social Forestry) Santa Subba, BDO Mangan Mr Kailash Thapa, Range Officer Mangan Mr Ashish Gurung, staff from the police department, the BAC Mangan team and officials from various line departments.
In order to provide a comprehensive platform, encourage mass participation, and enhance focus on forestry and environmental activities, the State Government has initiated "Sikkim Paryavaran Parva" from 1st July to 14th July, 2024. The theme for the year is "Leave a Green Legacy".
Various activities under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati’ (MRMS) have been organised in the district to date, with more activities such as a quiz competition and a painting competition scheduled in the coming days for students.
It may also be mentioned that A day for Mother Earth will be celebrated on 7th July with events including mass plantation drive, a seven-minute stoppage of vehicles and a skit on MRMS.
