Chief Secretary Government of Sikkim Meets US Consul General Kolkata
Gangtok, May 07 (IPR): Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, Mr R Telang, held a productive meeting with US Consul General Kolkata, Ms Kathy Giles Diaz, at Teesta Lounge of Tashiling Secretariat, today.
The Chief Secretary informed on Sikkim’s progress under power project and health facilities. Further, he highlighted the state's remarkable economic growth, citing its highest per capita GSDP in the country. Subsequently, he discussed on tourism sector and disaster management.
Additionally, he enlightened the delegate on the history of the state and its progress in the past 50 years.
During the meeting, the US Consul General Kolkata commended Sikkim's natural beauty and proactive approach to organic farming, expressing interest in potential collaborations and initiatives. ‘A small but mighty state on the rise,’ she added.
The meeting concluded with a positive outlook on future collaborations and infrastructure development.
