Chief Minister extends greetings on 60th Nathu La Vijay Diwas
Gangtok, September 11th (IPR): Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang has extended his heartiest greetings to the brave personnel, officers, soldiers and veterans of the Indian Army, particularly those serving in Sikkim, on the solemn and proud occasion of the 60th Nathu La Vijay Diwas.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that the historic day recalls the courage, valour and supreme sacrifice of the armed forces, who have remained steadfast in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. He paid deep respect to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The Chief Minister described Nathu La as a lasting symbol of the courage, determination and national resolve of the Indian armed forces, where soldiers continue to uphold their duty to the nation despite challenging terrain, biting cold and harsh conditions.
He also highlighted the invaluable role played by the Indian Army over the decades in the progress, peace and security of Sikkim. He said that the people of Sikkim hold the armed forces in the highest regard and remain deeply grateful for their service and sacrifice.
On Vijay Diwas, the Chief Minister called upon everyone to salute the indomitable spirit of the soldiers and reaffirm the collective commitment to the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
