Chairman RDD Graces the Fifth Day of Ongoing Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2025
Gyalshing, December 29 (IPR):Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2025 at Pelling Ground, Gyalshing District, continued to witness much enthusiastic participation of locals and plying tourists in its fifth consecutive day of the week-long festival.
Pelling Tourism Development Association (PTDA), in support of the District Administration Gyalshing, 14 Singyang–Chumbong GPU and Blue Rings Society, Pelling, had collectively organized the yearly calendar festival.
Chairman Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim, Mr Narayan Khatiwada graced the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Zilla Panchayat Singyang- Chumbung Ms Sabitri Sanyasi, President Darap Tourism Development Society Mr Shiva Gurung, Vice-President Gyalshing-Bermiok Tourism Development Society Ms Gauri Chettri, President PTDA Mr Keshav Pradhan and other distinguished invited guests.
Upon arrival, the Chief guest, accompanied by other esteemed dignitaries, was accorded a warm welcome by the Organizing Committee. Thereafter, visited installed stalls of ethnic groups that had the essence of diverse traditional values, arts, cuisines and hospitality.
At the staging area, Chief Guest Mr Khatiwada was conferred with a memento and honoured other invited dignitaries with the customary scarf by the president of the organising committee.
PTDA Vice-President Ms Karma Choki Bhutia extended a welcome address to the Chief Guest, esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders.
The fifth day of the festivity maintained to featured a series of captivating cultural dance performances and a futsal match under the Men’s Open Futsal Tournament that captivated attendees at the celebration.
In the futsal match under the semi-final stage of the Men's Open Futsal Tournament;
Supremos FC Lingchom advanced further in the tournament with the score on board of 03 goals against 02 goals of United Brothers' FC upon full-time of the match.
The consecutive day continued to have an esteemed presence of members of Pelling Tourism Development Association (PTDA); Zilla Members, Panchayats, officials and members of PTDA.
