Celebration of Poshan Maah 2026 under the Theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari"
Mangan, Sept 21st: The Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, in convergence with Bhavishya Bharat, Mangan, organised a programme to commemorate Poshan Maah 2026 under the national theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari”. The event highlighted the collective responsibility of Anganwadi Centres and workers in promoting community nutrition, maternal and child health, and overall developmental outcomes.
The programme was graced by Panchayat members from Namok Gram Panchayat, the Nutrition Educator cum Inspector, Supervisor and Block Coordinator of the Department, representatives and medical team from Bhavishya Bharat Mangan, the DTC medical team from District Hospital Mangan, Anganwadi Workers from Zone 2 and Zone 3 from Mangan Tribal Project, ASHAs, HWC Namok, Pregnant & Lactating Mothers, and local participants from various age groups.
In his address, the Nutrition Educator cum Inspector elaborated on the significance of the theme and underscored the critical role and responsibilities of Anganwadi Workers in fostering community growth and nutritional well-being.
A key component of the programme was the distribution of nutritionally dense supplements to Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) and Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM) children enlisted under the Mangan Tribal Project. The supplements were developed and packaged under strict norms and regulations by the Nutrition Educator cum Inspector. The initiative received support under the Health on Wheels project—an initiative for child and maternal health by the Glenn Mark Foundation—which sponsored the Department for the preparation of the supplements. The Nutrition Educator cum Inspector highlighted the composition, importance, and benefits of the product.
The Supervisor and Block Coordinator provided updates on the Poshan Maah monthly calendar, geo-location capturing of Anganwadi Centres through the Poshan Tracker, and registration under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
The Medical Officer from the Bhavishya Bharat medical team addressed the gathering on maternal health and conducted routine monthly follow-up tests. Concurrently, the DTC medical team from District Hospital Mangan carried out screening for tuberculosis.
The programme concluded successfully with active and enthusiastic participation from all stakeholders, reinforcing the shared commitment towards improved nutrition and health outcomes in the community.
