Celebrating new era of support through cheque distribution
Pakyong, September 17 (IPR): The cheque distribution ceremony for Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and Sikkim Aama Sahayog was carried out in the presence of MLA West Pendam, Mr LB Das, at the Duga GPK Hall, West Pendam today.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Mr LB Das expressed his appreciation for the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, who has always prioritised the welfare and empowerment of the mothers of Sikkim and highlighted that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, several flagship programmes have been introduced, among which the Sikkim Sashaktikaran Yojana and Aama Sahayog Yojana stand as historic initiatives dedicated to the upliftment of women and households across the state.
He highlighted that the Aama Sahayog Yojana is a scheme designed to ensure that every mother in Sikkim has access to cooking gas refills throughout the year, thus reducing the financial burden on households while also ensuring ease and dignity in daily life. He further added that the Sikkim Sashaktikaran Yojana goes hand-in-hand with the vision of empowering women to become active contributors to the state’s progress.
In Duga BAC, a total of 990 beneficiaries under the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and 99 beneficiaries under the Aama Sahayog Yojana, belonging to the following GPUs:
Budang Kamarey
Central Pendam
West Pendam
Also present were Zilla Panchayats; OSD to MLA, Mr Bhanu Pradhan; BDO Duga, Mr Chophel Bhutia, along with officials from various departments and beneficiaries.
