Canara Bank Extends CSR Support to Ringhim Nampatam GPU and Mangan Nagar Panchayat
Mangan, August 15 (IPR): On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Canara Bank, Mangan Branch, reaffirmed its commitment towards community development by extending financial assistance to Ringhim Nampatam Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) and Mangan Nagar Panchayat under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the Financial Year 2026–27.
As part of the initiative, Canara Bank presented a cheque amounting to ₹10 lakh (Rupees Ten Lakh only) towards the adoption of Ringhim Nampatam GPU under CSR for FY 2026–27. The cheque was formally handed over to the District Collector Mangan Mr Anant Jain.
A second cheque amounting to ₹2.68 lakh (Rupees Two Lakh Sixty-Eight Thousand only) was presented to MEO Mr Karzong Bhutia of Mangan Nagar Panchayat, further strengthening support for local development and community-oriented initiatives.
The cheques were handed over by Minister of Forest and Environment Department-cum-Area MLA, Dzongu, Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, marking the significance of the occasion and the collaborative efforts towards inclusive and sustainable development in the district.
The programme was attended by District Collector Mangan Mr Anant Jain, SP Mangan Rinzing Chopel Rai , Additional District Magistrate Mr Pema Wangchen Namkarpa Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mr Sandeep Kumar , Divisional Manager Regional Office Siliguri Canara Bank Mr Tapan Kumar Mishra, Senior Manager Canara Bank Mangan Branch Ms Thinley Choden Bhutia, along with other dignitaries, officials and staff of Canara Bank, Mangan Branch.
The CSR initiative reflects Canara Bank’s continued commitment to contributing to grassroots development and supporting local institutions in addressing community needs. The financial assistance is expected to facilitate developmental activities and create a meaningful impact at the local level, further strengthening the partnership between financial institutions and local governance bodies.
