CS Chairs State-Level Follow-Up Meeting on 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries
Gangtok, Mar 25 (IPR): Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, Mr R Telang, chaired a State-level Follow-Up Meeting to the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries, held in December 2025, at the conference hall of Tashiling Secretariat today.
The meeting was convened to discuss the outcomes of the national conference, centred on the theme of Human Capital Development for Viksit Bharat 2047, which was organised by NITI Aayog in New Delhi from 26-28 December 2025.
At the onset, the Chief Secretary gave a detailed overview of the said meeting and briefed the gathering about the action points that needed to be reviewed.
Thereafter, a detailed department-wise review and discussions were deliberated upon with the Heads of Departments and officials of various line departments of the state government.
The meeting assessed on the current status of implementation of various schemes and strategies, while also identifying underlying challenges in aligning central and state priorities through a whole-of-government approach.
During the course of the meeting, overall governance and capacity building, deregulation and ease of doing business, early childhood care and education (ECCE), schooling and foundational learning, higher education and the knowledge economy, skilling and workforce readiness, tourism and heritage preservation, sports and youth volunteerism, and digital agriculture (AgriStack) were discussed with the concerned departments.
Urging all to think beyond the purview of the prescribed mandate, the Chief Secretary directed the concerned departments to work in coordination and work out action plans to to focus on necessary reforms in order to ensure inclusive development of the state.
