COOPERATION DEPARTMENT HOSTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON COOPERATIVES AT NAMCHI SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
Namchi, 29 April (IPR): The Cooperation Department of Namchi, Government of Sikkim, organised an awareness programme on Cooperatives at the auditorium hall of Namchi Senior Secondary School today.
The initiative aimed to enlighten students about the role and importance of the cooperative movement, especially in light of the upcoming International Year of Cooperatives 2025, as declared by the United Nations.
The programme was graced by Mr Hari Prasad Mangar, Principal Namchi Senior Secondary School, who attended as the Chief Guest.
He was joined by Mrs Moti Rai Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mr Shidant Rai Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mr Pritam Chettri Audit Officer, along with Cooperative Inspectors and Assistant Cooperative Inspectors from the Cooperation Department.
In his brief address, the Chief Guest expressed his gratitude to the officials of the Cooperation Department for initiating such a meaningful and informative session for the students.
He conveyed his hope that the insights shared during the event would prove beneficial to the students in their academic and professional journeys.
Ms Moti Rai the Joint Registrar, thanked the Principal for facilitating the event and encouraged students to consider opportunities in the cooperative sector. She also extended her best wishes to the students in their future endeavours.
The programme included a presentation on the concept of Cooperation and Cooperatives delivered by Mr Shidant Rai Assistant Registrar, and a session on the History of Cooperatives presented by Mr K K Pradhan Cooperative Inspector.
These sessions were followed by a quiz competition aimed at engaging students in a fun and educational manner.
