CM Inspects Various Infrastructural Projects Under Soreng District

The Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) carried out inspections of various key development infrastructural projects under Soreng district today.
The inspection commenced at Mangerjung Mangsari, wherein the Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing works, instructing the contractors and stakeholders to expedite the progress. Additionally, he urged the Tourism Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia to closely monitor all tourism related infrastructural works throughout the year, emphasising that the Mangerjung Mangsari project must be treated as priority and review with the utmost seriousness.
He then, visited the Peacock Park located at Baiguney under Salghari-Zoom constituency, where he interacted with panchayats, engineers, concerned officials and stakeholders. During the interaction, the Chief Minister shared ideas and suggestions for improvement, stating that the park is being constructed for public use in order to boost eco-tourism and create livelihood opportunities in the region. He shared inputs related to the project’s vision, stating that project should not only focus on structure but also on uplifting the local community.
Also, the Chief Minister reviewed the construction works of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University of Excellence (NSBUoE) at Chakung. During the visit, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to complete all ongoing development projects in the district. He assured the public that these projects would soon be completed and made accessible for the public, to improve the overall welfare of the district’s residents. Highlighting the government’s long term vision, the CM urged the people of Soreng district to prepare themselves to fully utilise the opportunities being created by the government.
In addition, the Chief Minister expressed the government’s vision that the university would gain global recognition, stating that the university is designed to offer specialised subjects that not only serve local students but also attract students from abroad.
Mentioning about the upcoming projects such as LD Kazi Adventure Sports and the LD Kazi Museum, which will be built in memory of Late LD Kazi, he informed that the projects will be a commemoration to Late LD Kazi.
Thereafter, the Chief Minister also toured the Dak Bungalow at Chakung where he inspected the property whilst interacting with the officials involved in the project.
Further, the Chief Minister made a visit to Vrindavan, Dodak to assess the progress of ongoing construction works. During the visit, the Chief Minister was joined by Speaker (SLA) Mr MN Sherpa and Advisor to HCM Mr Rohit Raj Maharaj. The Chief Minister conducted a thorough on site assessment and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the pace of work, ensuring timely completion.
The Chief Minister further visited the Phuntsok Choeling Monastery at Sribadam, where he offered prayers and made a detailed toured of the monastery.
Initially, on his way to Mangsari-Mangerjung Palace the Chief Minister visited the roadside organic vegetables stalls, wherein he interacted with local vendors and assessed their needs. The Chief Minister then, directed the DC (Soreng) to initiate the inclusion of the basic amenities at the haat area for the vendors.
Accompanying him during the inspection were Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Department Mr Tshering T Bhutia, Minister for Forest and Environment Department Mr Pintsho Namgyal Lepcha, Minister for Buildings and Housing Department Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, MLAs, Zilla Adhakshya (Soreng), Zilla Upa-Adhakshya (Soreng), ACS (Tourism) Mr CS Rao, Commissioner cum Secretary (Education) Mr Raj Yadav, Secretaries, DC (Soreng), SP (Soreng), ADC, ADC (Dev), SDMs, Head of Departments, Head of Offices, officers and officials.
