CM Dedicates Tree to His Mother Under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Initiative on World Environment Day
Gangtok, June 5 (IPR):
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang marked the day with a deeply personal and meaningful gesture by planting a tree in honour of his mother under the nationwide initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, conceptualised by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
Before the plantation, the Chief Minister sought the blessings of his mother Smt Dhan Maya Tamang, whom he described as the pillar of his strength and the guiding light in his life. The symbolic act of planting a sapling in her name was not only a tribute to her nurturing presence but also a reaffirmation of the bond between nature and motherhood.
Speaking on the gesture, the Chief Minister expressed, “There is something deeply fulfilling about dedicating a tree to the one who gave me life, nurtured me, and shaped the person I am today. Every moment spent with her is a reminder of unconditional love and warmth, and today, that love took root in the form of a sapling, a symbol of gratitude, life, and hope for generations to come”, shared the Chief Minister.
