Awareness Programme Conducted in Gyalshing Under Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign 4.0.
Gyalshing, August 24 (IPR): A joint inspection cum rescue and awareness programme was conducted at Gyalshing Bazaar and surrounding areas as part of the ongoing Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign 4.0 in accordance with the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986. The campaign was organised by the District Labour Office, Gyalshing, in coordination with the District Task Force (DTF) and was carried out in accordance with Letter No. 128/WCSC&DWD/MVS/2026.
The joint inspection was headed by SDM(HQ) Mr. Agni Chettri. Also present were Sub Inspector Norgay Bhutia, Assistant Labour Commissioner Mr Tilak Chand Sharma and officials from the Labour Department and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) participating in the drive.
The inspection focused mainly on the identification, rescue and rehabilitation of children engaged in labour, while strengthening efforts towards the prevention of child labour and ensuring welfare of children.
The team inspected Gyalshing market area as well as establishments as part of the campaign and reiterated the importance of complying with provisions relating to the prohibition of child labour.
