Awareness Meeting on MY Bharat Highlights Opportunities for Volunteering and Skill Development
Pakyong, July 17 (IPR): A meeting on Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), an initiative of the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, was convened today at the DDMA Control Hall, Pakyong, in the presence of the District Collector, Pakyong, Ms Pari Bishnoi.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to HCM, Mr Bishnu Kumar Khatiwada; Additional District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Pulkit; SDM Rongli, Mr Suren Kumar SDM, Pakyong, Mr NK Bhandari; OSD, IT Department, Mr Bum Tshering Yonzon, CA to HCM, Mr Urgen Lepcha; along with CEO, Education Department and officers from various departments Pakyong District.
The meeting was convened to brief participants on the objectives, features and implementation of the MY Bharat initiative and to discuss strategies for enhancing youth participation across the district.
Deputy Director, MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Mr Shamsher Subedar, delivered a detailed presentation on the initiative. He informed that
MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports that serves as a technology-driven institutional mechanism to empower youth by connecting them with opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, leadership and skill development. The initiative aims to transform the energy of young people into meaningful action for nation-building.
During the presentation, Mr Subedar highlighted the three core roles of MY Bharat: constructive engagement, youth-led dissemination and youth-led decision-making. He also elaborated on the various features of the MY Bharat portal, including opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning programmes, mentorship, CV building, internships, skill development, youth engagement activities and participation in national level initiatives. He further explained the registration process on the MY Bharat portal and encouraged all stakeholders to facilitate greater youth enrolment.
Addressing the meeting, the District Collector stated that MY Bharat offers a valuable opportunity for the youth to gain exposure through meaningful participation in various programmes and activities. She urged all departments and stakeholders to extend necessary support and to undertake awareness initiatives so that more young people in the district could benefit from the platform.
The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion on strengthening inter-departmental coordination and promoting wider awareness and registration under the MY Bharat initiative across Pakyong District.
