Gangtok, March 8 (IPR): On the occasion of International Women's Day, an all-women bike rally was flagged off by DC Gangtok, Mr Tushar G. Nikhare, from the District Administrative Centre today.
The rally was organised by the Women Riders of Sikkim, led by Ms Prerna Bhusal in collaboration with the District Administration, Gangtok and Axor Helmets.
The initiative aimed to promote road safety and highlight women’s empowerment in the field of motorcycling.
The rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 30 women riders, underlining the growing presence and confidence of women in the motoring community while encouraging safe and responsible riding practices.
Flagging off the rally, DC Gangtok Mr Tushar G. Nikhare extended greetings on the occasion and encouraged the riders to continue promoting road safety.
The rally commenced from the District Administrative Centre and proceeded to the Tourist Facilitation Centre in Pakyong District.
