Actor Bhavna Menon Shares Insights on Craft and Cinema at SIFF 2026

Gangtok, March 21 (IPR): On the third day of the Sikkim International Film Festival, a session titled “Actor’s Craft Conversation with Bhavna Menon” was held at Chintan Bhawan today.
Ms Bhavna Menon, an actor from the South Indian film industry, is known for her work across Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. She is widely recognised for her performances and her significant contribution to regional cinema.
The Sikkim International Film Festival 2026 is being organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
The conversation was moderated by the Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr Yougan Tamang.
During the session, Ms Bhavna Menon shared her journey as an actor and reflected on the process of preparation and character building. She spoke about the dedication, discipline and continuous effort required to pursue acting as a craft, while highlighting the importance of understanding the inner world of a character.
Encouraging aspiring actors and filmmakers, she emphasised the need to remain committed to one’s craft, continue learning and stay grounded in authenticity.
The session also explored various acting techniques and offered valuable insights drawn from her experiences in the industry. She further noted that such festivals play a vital role in bridging cultural gaps and fostering greater understanding through cinema.
The session witnessed active participation from delegates, aspiring filmmakers, artists and students, making it an engaging and enriching interaction.
