AYUSH Outreach Health Camp Conducted at Aspirational Block HWC/PHSC Chakung under Soreng District
The Department of AYUSH, Soreng PHC successfully organized an AYUSH Outreach Health Camp at aspirational block HWC/PHSC Chakung under the guidance of Dr. Roshma Thapa, Medical Officer (AYUSH), Soreng PHC, with the aim of strengthening community-based healthcare services and promoting AYUSH wellness practices.
The programme included a range of essential health services such as Eye Screening, Blood Pressure Check, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Hemoglobin (Hb%) estimation, Height & Weight measurement, and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment. Alongside screenings, Homeopathic consultation and free distribution of Homeopathic medicines were provided to beneficiaries.

15 Antenatal Care (ANC) beneficiaries
13 Geriatric patients
30 individuals undergone Eye Screening
64 beneficiaries screened for BP/RBS/HB%/consultation
In addition, a Godh Bharai (Baby Shower) programme was organized by the ICDS Department at HWC/PHSC Chakung on the same day. All the ANC women participating in this celebration also benefitted from the AYUSH health camp services, thereby supporting maternal health and wellbeing in the community.
To further enhance public awareness, IEC (Information, Education & Communication) materials were distributed and a brief session was conducted on the importance of Homeopathic medicines and preventive health practices.
The event witnessed strong coordination and support from HWC/PHSC Chakung staff and the AYUSH team from Soreng PHC, ensuring smooth execution and effective healthcare outreach to the community.
The AYUSH Department remains committed to delivering quality healthcare services and spreading awareness about traditional systems of medicine, contributing toward a healthier, aware and empowered society through accessible, community-centered initiatives.
