ADC Namchi Chairs Review Meeting on Panchayat Competition for Independence Day
Namchi, 26 June (IPR):
A review meeting was convened today at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, to assess the ongoing competition among Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) vying for the honour of being invited as special guests to the Independence Day celebration 2025 in New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by ADC Namchi Ms Trisang Tamang, who addressed the gathering for the third time since the inception of this programme. She commended the progress made so far, drawing attention to the data submitted by various GPUs.
She emphasised the importance of achievements under key government schemes, particularly focusing on the saturation levels and the implementation of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) initiative.
ADC (Dev) Dr. CP Rai provided further insights, noting that Namchi comprises 54 GPUs. He informed attendees that to qualify for this prestigious recognition, each GPU must demonstrate successful implementation of at least six out of nine identified government schemes.
He further directed that all GPUs are required to submit their work reports for the preceding months no later than 30th June.
The final deadline for submission has been set for 1st July. Reports must be precise, reflecting actual completion percentages, and must be accompanied by signed hard copies for official verification.
The meeting concluded with a comprehensive review of progress updates and data presented by the GPU representatives. Officials reiterated the importance of transparency and accuracy in reporting.
The meeting was also attended by ADC (Dev) Ravangla Mr Sunil Kumar Mothey, SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintsho Bhutia, Deputy Director, Agriculture Mr Deo Prakash Rai, Deputy Director Agriculture Dr Nation Chamling ,CDPO Namchi Mr LaxmanTamang, CDPO Ravangla Mr Norbu Lepcha, DE/NDZP Mr SK Rajalim, Deputy Director, Horticulture Mr NK Chettri .
