8th Rastriya Poshan Maah 2025 Launched in Namchi

Namchi, 17th September (IPR) : The 8th edition of Rastriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) organised by Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department Namchi was officially launched today in the esteemed presence of SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia.
As part of the inauguration, the Poshan Pledge was solemnly administered by the SDM, reaffirming collective commitment towards building a healthier, better-nourished society.
This year’s Poshan Maah brings attention to several key themes under the overarching mission of improving nutritional outcomes and promoting holistic development. The major focus areas include:
Combating Obesity: Emphasis on reducing sugar and oil consumption as a preventive health measure.
Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE): Integrating nutrition with early learning under the initiative Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB).
Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF): Promoting optimal breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices.
Men-streaming in Nutrition: Encouraging active male involvement in nutritional care and household health practices.
Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam: A tree plantation drive honouring motherhood and environmental consciousness.
Vocal for Local: Endorsing local produce and traditional food systems to ensure sustainability and nutrition security.
Following the launch of Poshan Maah, a special campaign titled Sewa Pakhwada will be observed from 17th September to 16th October 2025. This period will witness a series of community-led activities focused on health, nutrition, cleanliness, and service to society.
