76th Republic Day Celebrated at Mangan

Mangan, January 26 (IPR):
The 76th Republic Day was observed at the premises of District Administrative Centre Mangan, today.
The celebration was graced by Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha Minister for Forest, Mines & Geology and Science & Technology-cum-Area MLA Dzongu as the chief guest. He was received by Mr Kado Lepcha Zilla Adakshya Mangan, along with Mr Anant Jain (IAS) DC Mangan and Mr Sonam Detchu Bhutia SP Mangan.
The chief guest unfurled the national flag, which was followed by the national anthem and guard of honor in the premises of District Administrative Center Mangan.
Thereafter the celebration took place in the election hall of DAC, with culture programmes displaying national integration through dances and patriotic song.
Also present in the celebrations were Ms Norkit Lepcha Municipal President, Ms Premkit Lepcha Councillor, Mr Mani Kumar Tamang ASP Mangan, Mr Prakash Rai SDM Mangan, Major Ram Lakhan Tewatia OC107RC, Panchayats, Head of Offices, Officials, Dignitaries, Teachers, Students and Citizens.
The chief guest Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha addressing the gathering extended his greetings to the gathering, at the same time he offered heartfelt tributes to the martyrs and great leaders of the nation.
He expressed that we should take pride in being citizens of the world's greatest democracy, which values rich diversity, communal harmony, and prioritizes humanity above all.
He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang the state government is focused on developmental works for the state, he highlighted the development progress on national highways, state road networks and the Sikkim Railway project which would further strengthen the access and connectivity and will boost tourism and hospitality in the state, especially for Mangan district.
He also stated the newly constructed building of Mangan District Hospital will be inaugurated shortly which will mark a significant milestone in healthcare and development for the district.
Speaking on the 50 years of Statehood, he said it is a historic moment and every citizen of the state should be proud and take part in the celebration.
He confidently stated that although the state of Sikkim is small, it has the potential to set an example in the days to come.
The Minister applauded Mangan SP Mr Sonam Detchu Bhutia, who has recently been selected for the prestigious Presidential Award for Distinguished Services and offered Khada to him.
Ending his address he asked all the attendees to make a promise to strive towards making Mangan district the best among all in the state.
Earlier, the Message of Governor of Sikkim and Chief Minister of Sikkim were read out by DC Mangan and SDM Mangan, respectively.
Ms Avvantika Rajalim District Information Officer IPR Department Mangan delivered the welcome address, where she emphasised the significance of the values enshrined in our constitution.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. David Gyamtso Chief Education Officer Mangan.
The celebration also witnessed a ceremony of distribution of certificate of appreciation, letter of appreciation to students, government officials and GREF officials through the hands of the chief guest.
