2nd Day Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2025 Continues at Pelling, Gyalshing District
Gyalshing, December 26 (IPR):The second day of the Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2025 was held today at Pelling Ground in Gyalshing District. The festival is being organised by the Pelling Tourism Development Association (PTDA) with the support of the District Administration, Gyalshing District,14/ Singyang–Chumbong GPU and Blue Rings Society, Pelling.
The programme was graced by Mr Tashi Wangyal Bhutia,(CLC President,Yangthang Constituency), as the Chief guest. Upon his arrival, he was accorded a warm welcome by the organising committee.
The festival aims to promote Pelling as a premier tourist destination by showcasing its rich cultural heritage, traditional cuisine, local handicrafts, and adventure tourism potential.
The event featured colourful cultural dance performances, exhibitions by local artisans, food stalls offering traditional delicacies, and various recreational activities highlighting the unique identity of the region.
The second day of the festival also marked the commencement of a Futsal Tournament, adding a sporting spirit to the celebrations.
Earlier,the welcome address was delivered by Ms Karma Choki Bhutia, Vice President, PTDA.
The event was attended by Mr Pujan Rai, OSD to MLA Yangthang; Mr Khasav Pradhan, President, PTDA; Zilla Members; officials and members of PTDA; representatives from various government departments; local residents from neighbouring areas; and tourists from across the country.
