211th Bhanu Jayanti observed at DAC Mangan
Mangan, July 13 (IPR):
The 211th Bhanu Jayanti was observed with reverence at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Mangan, today. The event was organised to mark the birth anniversary of the celebrated Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya.
As part of the observance, a garland and khada offering ceremony was held at the DAC Hall, where officials and staff from various departments under the Mangan District administration paid tribute by lighting of lamps and offering of traditional khadas to his portrait.
District Magistrate Mr Anant Jain, briefly addressed the gathering, highlighting the literary and cultural contributions of Bhanubhakta Acharya, particularly his translation of the Ramayana into the Nepali language. He underscored the importance of remembering and honouring figures who have shaped linguistic and cultural identity.
The observance witnessed the participation of ASP Mangan Mr Mani Kumar Tamang, SDM Mangan Mr Rinchen Dorjee Bhutia, Heads of Offices and district officials.
