1,001 Aamas Receive Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana Cheques in West Pendam

Pakyong, October 3 (IPR): MLA, West Pendam Constituency-cum-Advisor, LR&DM and IT Department, Mr LB Das, attended the cheque distribution programme under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana held at BAC Duga, where 1,001 Aamas of West Pendam Constituency received the benefits under the scheme.
The beneficiaries included Aamas from Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, West Pendam GPU and Central Pendam GPU.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Das briefly outlined the objectives of the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and highlighted the State Government’s focus on the welfare and socio-economic empowerment of Aamas. He also spoke about ongoing and upcoming development works in West Pendam Constituency.
He urged the public to verify information through official and reliable sources before believing or sharing information circulated on social media.
The MLA also expressed his appreciation to the Chief Minister of Sikkim for initiatives undertaken for the people of the State, including the inauguration of the Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College, the Sikkim House at Guwahati and the ongoing construction of Sikkim House at Mumbai.
The main component of the programme was the distribution of cheques to 1,001 Aamas from Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, West Pendam GPU and Central Pendam GPU under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana.
The programme was attended by Chairperson, Cooperation Department, Ms Bidya Biswakarma; Zilla Panchayat, West Pendam, Ms Arati Darjee; Zilla Panchayat, Central Pendam Constituency, Mr Bebek Chettri; RNP President Mr Sanjeev Khati and Councillors; President, West Pendam GPU, Ms Kusum Tamang and Panchayat Members; President, Central Pendam GPU, Ms Goma Dhakal and Panchayat Members; OSD to MLA, Mr Bhanu Bhakta Pradhan; Pharma Coordinator to the Government of Sikkim, Mr Hari Dangal; MEO Rangpo, Mr Tsewang Norbu Bhutia; along with officials, public representatives and stakeholders.
