“Administration at the Doorstep” Reaches Pentong Village under Dzongu Block
Under the banner of “Administration at the Doorstep”, the Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Passingdang, Dzongu, in collaboration with the SDM Office, Dzongu, and various line departments under BAC Passingdang including the Education Department, Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Forest & Environment Department, State Bank of Sikkim (Passingdang Branch), and Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Mangan, organized an extensive administrative outreach programme for the public of Pentong village under Sakyong Pentong GPU. The outreach programme was hosted by the Zilla Panchayat and Gram Panchayat members of Sakyong Pentong GPU.
Sakyong and Pentong are the last villages in Dzongu, where residents often have to travel long distances to access basic administrative services at the BAC and SDM offices. This not only results in significant time loss but also poses hardships, particularly for farmers, the elderly, and working citizens.
During the programme, various official documents were issued, and several official documents were renewed on the spot. The Land Revenue Department of the SDM Office, Dzongu, also carried out the long-pending land demarcation works of Pentong Primary School and the Health and Wellness Centre, providing much-needed administrative relief to the local community.
Chairperson, Horticulture Department Smt. Ongkit Lepcha and OSD, Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department Shri Ugen Lepcha also participated in the programme.
The “Administration at the Doorstep” initiative has been launched under the visionary leadership of the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), and under the guidance and support of the Honourable Minister-cum-Area MLA, Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha. The programme embodies the government’s commitment to deliver governance and welfare services directly to the people’s doorstep, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility even in the farthest reaches of Dzongu.
