Gyalshing, November 8 (IPR):
The District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) meeting for Gyalshing District was held today under the chairmanship of Mr Suresh Rai, Additional District Collector (ADC), Gyalshing. The meeting reviewed key agenda items and assessed progress on targets set during the previous DLCC meeting.
Present at the meeting were Mr Sagar Sharma, Zilla Panchayat Member (Gyalshing-Omchung GPU), Mr Anit Lamichaney, Lead District Manager, Mr Rupen Lamichaney, Assistant General Manager (NABARD), Mr Subash Luhagun, Manager (RBI, Gangtok), officials from KVIC and DIC, branch heads from all public and private sector banks in Gyalshing District and other bank representatives.
The meeting focused on reviewing the overall performance of banks in the district, with particular emphasis on the Credit Deposit Ratio, accomplishments in priority and non-priority sectors, the MSME sector, and government-sponsored schemes such as the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). Additional discussions included savings and credit linkages of Self Help Groups (SHGs), Kisan Credit Card (KCC) utilization as of the 2nd quarter, and sectors such as agriculture, education, and housing finance schemes.
Banks that did not meet their targets were given specific directions and targets to be achieved by the next quarterly review. The ADC urged these banks to intensify their efforts to meet their mandates and streamline processes, thereby making financial services more accessible and efficient for citizens. Stressing the significance of Financial Literacy Camps (FLCs) and Block Level Bankers' Committee (BLBC) meetings, he encouraged banks to collaborate with local panchayats, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and other line departments to further the district's development goals.
The Lead Bank presented a comprehensive report on district-level progress regarding credit delivery, loan recovery, and targets achieved in line with the Annual Credit Plan (ACP).
