HCM meets Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs in New Delhi

New Delhi, 17 Aug (IPR): Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) accompanied by Shri Sonam Lama, Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development Department and Shri Arun Upreti, Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development Department called on Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah, on 17th August in New Delhi.

The HCM congratulated Shri Shah on abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution related to the State of Jammu & Kashmir and peaceful transition. He also thanked him on his assurance given to the Parliament for the protection and preservation of the sanctity of 371F of the Constitution.

The HCM placed various demands of the State including seat reservation of Limboo and Tamang communities, tribal status to all left out 11 communities of the State and other pending demands. He also presented the White Paper to the Hon’ble Home Minister which was placed before the State Assembly on the Financial and Development mismanagement by the previous Government.

He also presented the White Paper on Teesta Urja Hydel Power Project about its mismanagement and negligence on the project completion. The issue of embezzlement of public fund was also raised during the discussion. Shri Tamang also presented the list of the Sanskrit teachers recently appointed by the State Government in various schools of Sikkim.

The speech of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim delivered during the last budget session of Sikkim Legislative Assembly was also presented to the Hon’ble Union Minister.

The Union Minister has assured to consider the long pending political, social and economical demands of the State issues. The HCM thanked the Union Minister for his patient hearing and the assurances.
