Gangtok, April 25 (IPR): Mr D Anandan, the Chief Electoral Officer of Sikkim, inspected the strong room located at DIET College in Burtuk. The inspection involved assessing the security measures in place to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process, ensuring that ballots and other election materials are securely stored until they are counted.
The CEO Sikkim was accompanied by Mr Tushar G Nikhare District Election Officer-cum- District Collector Gangtok, Mr Rohan Agawane Addtl District Collector Gangtok, Mr Suresh Rai SDM Rabdang, Ms Bijayata Kharel, Nodal Officer/Coordinator District Control Centre (Gangtok) and Mr Karma Wangyal Bhutia Deputy Director Election Department (Gangtok).
During his visit, the CEO inspected the area around the strong room at DIET College and instructed officials on implementing additional security measures, including installing cameras at critical points.
Furthermore, he briefed the District Election Officer (DEO) Gangtok about taking extra precautions on security measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras and tightening security around the strong room.
