Soreng, March 27 (IPR): On the fifth and final day of filing nominations for the upcoming General Elections 2024, it was informed by District Election Officer (DEO) Soreng, Ms Yishey D Yongda, that a total of 15 nominations from four Assembly Constituencies (ACs) were filed from Soreng District in the Office of the Returning Officers (ROs), Soreng, today. The oath of affirmation was also administered by the respective ROs as per the ECI norms and the names of the candidates who filed their nominations today are:
05-Rinchenpong Assembly Constituency (BL):
1. Norden Bhutia (SDF)
2. Dawa Ongdi Lepcha (CAP)
3. Erung Tenzing Lepcha (SKM)
4. Sancho Lepcha (BJP)
06-Daramdin Assembly Constituency (BL):
1. Phurba Dorjee Sherpa (BJP)
2. Pem Norbu Sherpa (SDF)
3. Pemba Sherpa (SDF) has filed nomination as the substitute candidate of Pem Norbu Sherpa (SDF)
4. Mingma Norbu Sherpa (SKM)
07-Soreng-Chakung Assembly Constituency:
1. Dr. Akar Dhoj Limbu (SDF)
2. Purna Singh Subba (BJP)
3. Pobin Hang Subba (CAP)
4. Suk Raj Limboo (SDF) has filed nomination as the substitute candidate of Dr Akar Dhoj Limbu (SDF)
08-Salghari-Zoom Assembly Constituency (SC):
1. Janga Bir Darnal (SDF)
2. Pahal Man Kami (BJP)
3. Madan Cintury (SKM)
It may be noted that the nomination filing process for the General Elections, 2024 concluded today. While the scrutiny of the nominations will be conducted on March 28, 2024 (Thursday), the last day for withdrawal of nominations is March 30, 2024 (Saturday).
The poll day is scheduled on April 19, 2024 (Friday).
