Chief Minister’s Mentorship Programme for class X students commences for Gyalshing District, with a One Day Orientation Programme for the School Heads
Gyalshing,July 29:
Chief Minister’s Mentorship Programme for class X students commenced today, for Gyalshing District, with a One Day Orientation Programme for the school heads of all 33 government schools having class X.
The programme was graced by Additional Director, Samagra Shiksha Mr AD Chettri and CEO, Gyalshing Mr PG Bhutia, in the auditorium of PM Shri Gyalshing GSSS.
This year, the responsibility of preparing class X students for the board examination, with a view to achieve better result and guide the children for their future, has been bestowed on Katalytic Charter School Foundation, a local organisation, dedicated to educational excellence.
Welcoming the participants, CEO, Gyalshing presented an elaborate report on past performance of schools, expressing satisfaction on the improvement shown by most of the schools. He urged low performers to work hard and ensure better performance in the coming board examination.
Director, KCF, Ms Kunzang Choeki Bhutia in her keynote address briefed about the entire process of the mentorship Programme, which includes baseline assessments and fact finding exercises in order to help schools and students do better. She expressed the willingness and commitment of her team to help the HOIs, teachers and students in their objectives.
Additional Director, Samagra Shiksha, motivated the school heads and suggested important strategies so that even low performing students are able to score higher marks. He encouraged the HOIs to make a difference in their school, in terms of positive transformation.
The inaugural programme was anchored by Joint Director, Gyalshing Mr Rajesh Thapa and attended by heads of all five block offices.
During the next two days, nominated teachers for Mathematics, Science, Social Science and English will be oriented, at the same venue, by the team of resource persons from KCF.
