District Panchayat Sammelan on Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Grameen) Held at Soreng District.
Gangtok, 4th August: A District Panchayat Sammelan under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Grameen) [VB-G RAM-G] was held at Soreng District today.
The programme was chaired by Zilla Upadhyaksha, Soreng District, Shri C.B. Shankar.
The Sammelan was attended by Zilla Panchayats and Gram Panchayats of Soreng District, Shri Ongdi Sherpa, ADC (Development), Soreng, Shri Tikaram Rai, BDO, Chumbung, Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, ADPCs, APCs, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, and other departmental functionaries.
Shri Deepak Rai, Joint Secretary, VB-G RAM-G, Rural Development Department, Head Office, delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the overview, objectives, salient features, and the role of Gram Panchayats under VB-G RAM-G.
Similarly, Shri Mahindra Luitel, GIS Expert, made a presentation on the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP), while Shri Tufan Subba, APC, spoke on planning, convergence, and fund flow under the scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ongdi Sherpa, ADC (Development), Soreng, emphasised the need for all Gram Panchayats and departmental functionaries to work in close coordination to achieve the objectives of the mission.
Furthermore, Zilla Upadhyaksha Shri C.B. Shankar, in his address, appealed to all Zilla and Gram Panchayats to develop a clear understanding of the scheme and undertake participatory planning with greater emphasis on the creation of community infrastructure and sustainable livelihood assets.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which participants clarified various aspects of the scheme. The entire Sammelan was efficiently steered by Shri Satyan Thapa, ADPC, Soreng District.
