Chairman NMC Shri. Ganesh Rai inaugurated an Urban Health and Wellness Centre established by Health and Family Welfare Department at Boomtar

Namchi, 6th Feb(IPR): Chairman NMC Shri. Ganesh Rai inaugurated an Urban Health and Wellness Centre established by Health and Family Welfare Department at Boomtar, Namchi, today.
The Centre will facilitate OPD services , Free Medicines and Diagnosis, Antenatal and Pregnancy Care, Newborn and Child Health Services, Health promotion and councelling, Yoga and Wellness Services.
The Chairman in his address congratulated the entire team of Health and Family Welfare Department for successfully establishing the centre and urged the public of Boomtar to take advantage of the centre. He reiterated more such centre is still required in both rural and urban areas of Namchi district.
Mission Director, Dr. Raj Prabha Moktan shared the technical aspects of the centre as it is an initiative taken by National Health Mission, bugdeted under 15 Finance Commission which will provide 12 primary health services along with 14 diagonistic care and services.There are 11 such centre in whole sikkim till date.
Further, She emphasised on the importants of the participation of community to make the centre more functional and enouraged the gathering to focus on disease free and healthy lifestyle.
It is to be mentioned that this centre will be open on all working days from 9:am to 3:pm.
Present on the occassion were DC Namchi, Shri M. Bharani , Mission Director, Dr. Raj Prabha Moktan, CMO, Dr.D.C Sharma, Councillor of Namchi,Shri. Pem Norbu Bhutia, his eminence Chundi Gyatsho Lama and other officials and staffs from Health and Family Welfare and line Departments and public at large.
During the programme, Pledge taking was held on Mahatma Gandhi's Martyrdom day on the juncture of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav' for Anti-Leprosy Day and Fortnight 30th January -13th Febrauray.
Earlier, Chairman along with the DC Namchi and Councillors of Namchi inspected the premises of the Centre
