CHIEF MINISTER PREM SINGH TAMANG PARTICIPATED IN CHHATH PUJA AT RANGPO AND ATTENDED A MAHAYAGYA TO OFFER PRAYERS FOR THE DEPARTED SOULS WHO PERISHED IN THE RECENT TRAGEDY.

Pakyong, November 19 (IPR): Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang attended a day-long Mahayagya this morning at Rangpo IBM Ground.
The Mahayagya was organized by Akhil Sikkim Purohit Pandit Parishad to offer prayers for the departed souls who lost their lives in the recent calamity. The Mahayagya had the participation of purohits and pandits from across the State.
The Chief Minister praised the organisation and the pandits for their noble gestures during the puja. Additionally, he shared news about a recent decision to raise the salaries of Sanskrit teachers to match those of ad-hoc teachers in the State, expressing full government’s support.
The organisation felicitated Mr Krishna Bhakt Nepal (Headmaster of Aho Sanskrit Pathshala) and Pandit Keshav Sharan Khanal for their contributions towards society.
Thereafter, the Chief Minister also conveyed his greetings to the entire Bihari community while participating in the Chhath puja celebration at Shree Ram Ghat, Rangpo.
Sikkim Bihari Jagran Manch expressed their appreciation by presenting a statue of Lord Ganesh to the Chief Minister for joining in the auspicious occasion.
