Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur convened an important meeting to review the infrastructure projects of the district on the third and final day of his three-day gazing district tour.
Honourable Lok Sabha MP Dr., in this review meeting. Indra Hong Subba, District Collector of Gazing, Superintendent of Police including NHIDCL (NHIDCL), BSNL (BSNL), Electricity, Forest and Rural Development Department and SSB senior officers were present.
During the meeting, the Governor expressed concern over delays in pending development projects, especially legship-gazing road construction work from the year 2024 and sought clarification from the officials of NHIDCL, to raise this serious issue by the Hon'ble MP and to be aware of the challenges of the local public And after experiencing misery during the journey on this route himself, the Governor sir instructed the concerned officials to accelerate the task and assured that he will discuss this serious issue with senior officials of the central government and if necessary, the relevant Will talk to the minister too.
Addressing the officials, the Governor said there is no shortage of funds for development works, but better mutual coordination and activism towards the work. The general public and passengers are facing difficulties due to road clutches, affecting the region's tourism business as well.
The Governor ordered BSNL officials to set up a fixed deadline for installing mobile towers in the BOP areas and said opening these BOPs as soon as possible should be a top priority. He also assured that he will contact the BSNL CMD directly on this matter.
The Governor insisted that our police deployed in the security of the country live in extremely remote areas, it is our responsibility to provide them with modern communication facilities of all kinds.
During the meeting, the Governor directed the District Collector of Gazing to conduct regular review meetings every month with all affiliated departments of the district. The main objective of this is to review the ground progress of the plans so that the benefit of government plans and development works can reach the person sitting at the end of society in time.
Finally, the Hon'ble Governor insisted that all officials fulfil their responsibilities within the fixed deadline.
