Visit of Shri Kapil Meena, IAS, Director (M&P), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India to Sikkim
Shri Kapil Meena, IAS, Director (M&P), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, undertook a two-days official visit to Sikkim from 6th to 7th November 2025 to review the status of implementation of various schemes of the Ministry of Cooperation in the State.
During his visit, Shri Meena inspected and interacted with board members of Nandok PACS and Luing Perbing PACS and reviewed the functioning of the PACS with it’s implementation of Ministry schemes and its progress in strengthening cooperative activities at the grassroots level, he attended the District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) meeting of Gangtok District chaired by District Collector and shared his suggestion/ inputs for strengthening the cooperative movement in the District.
He also held discussions with PRCS cum Secretary and senior officials of the Department and representatives of SISCO Bank on strengthening the cooperative movement and acknowledged Sikkim in the effective implementation of Ministry schemes.
Further, he visited the Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union and Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) to assess their activities and functioning in the State. A detailed PPT was shown by them on their current performance. Then, he visited Kadamtam Dairy Cooperative Society (DCS) and interacted with the BOD.
Shri Meena also paid a courtesy call on the Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, and discussed avenues for enhancing the cooperative sector in the state.
The visit provided valuable insights into the ground-level progress of cooperative initiatives and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Central and State Governments towards strengthening the cooperative ecosystem in Sikkim.
