72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Yuksam Celebrates National Unity Day at Multiple Locations
Gyalshing, October 31: Today, under the able guidance of the Commandant, 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Yuksam and the leadership of Second-in-Command Mr Narayan Ram Khadaw, the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was celebrated with great enthusiasm, zeal, and pride as National Unity Day.
The celebration commenced at the Battalion Headquarters, Yuksam, with the organization of the “Unity Run (Run for Unity)”, in which officers, subordinate officers, and personnel participated with great enthusiasm. The purpose of this run was to promote awareness about the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. After the run, all officers and personnel took the “National Unity Pledge”, paying tribute to the vision, sacrifice, and organizational ability of Sardar Patel and reaffirming their commitment to remain ever ready to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation.
Continuing the celebration, a National Unity Pledge Ceremony was also organized at the Pelling Sky Walk, where the Battalion personnel administered the pledge jointly to the local staff and domestic as well as foreign tourists present at the venue. On this occasion, the officers highlighted the significance of National Unity Day and the immense contribution of Sardar Patel to the unification of India. The tourists appreciated this inspiring initiative of the Sashastra Seema Bal and joined in pledging to uphold the nation’s unity and harmony.
In addition, a pledge-taking ceremony was organized at Damber Singh Limboo Memorial Government Senior Secondary School, Darap, where the Battalion officers and jawans administered the National Unity Pledge to the students and teachers. The students, in unison, vowed to maintain the unity, integrity, and harmony of the nation.
The event concluded with the spirited slogan “Jai Hind”. The entire celebration was marked by enthusiasm, discipline, and a deep sense of patriotism. Through these multiple events organised on the same day, the 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal truly embodied the spirit of Service, Security, and Brotherhood, and made a meaningful effort to spread the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel among the people.
