Hee Yangthang SSS pays Tribute on the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Gyalshing, October 31:On the auspicious occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man and symbol of unity and integrity, the great national figure Sardar Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel (October 31, 1875 – December 15, 1950), tributes were paid across the nation through various programmes.
As the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India, Sardar Patel played a historic role in uniting hundreds of princely states and laying the foundation of an integrated India. His strong willpower, unwavering patriotism, and firm decision-making made him immortal as the “Iron Man of India.”
To mark this occasion, a special programme was organised at Hee-Yangthang Senior Secondary School, with the support of Hee-Yangthang Police under Dentam Police Station. The event was conducted under the banner of NSS (National Service Scheme).
As part of the programme, essay writing and painting competitions were held among students, witnessing enthusiastic participation. The chief guest, police personnel from the local station along with the Vice-Principal of the school, Mr Hari Bhandari, distributed certificates and prizes to the winners while recalling Sardar Patel’s life, works, and contributions to nation-building.
According to the school authorities, the event helped inspire in students a spirit of patriotism, unity, and social responsibility.
