Financial Inclusion Campaign Ongoing in Pakyong District
Pakyong, July 18:
As part of the nationwide campaign (01 July – 30 September 2025) for the coverage of Financial Inclusion schemes — Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), a Financial Inclusion Camp was held at Amba GPU, Pakyong District.
The campaign is focused on expanding access to financial services and social security schemes for all citizens.
The event was carried out with the cooperation of the Panchayat President, Panchayat AD, LDM Pakyong District, LDO RBI Gangtok, bank personnel, Business Correspondents (BCs), GPU functionaries, and local coordinators.
Representatives from Central Bank of India, SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and IDBI Bank participated in the event.
Activities during the camp included re-verification of KYC for inactive PMJDY accounts, opening of new PMJDY accounts for those without banking access, and enrolments under PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY.
A significant number of citizens attended the camp, and enrolments were completed on the spot by the bank teams.
Financial literacy sessions were also conducted to inform the public about the process and features of the financial schemes.
