A programme to welcome the newly appointed Chairpersons of Culture Department was convened at Manan Bhawan on July 17, 2025 which was graced by the Hon’ble Minister Culture Department Shri GT Dhungel as the Chief Guest.
The occasion was marked by welcoming the newly appointed Chairperson of Culture Department Smt Bhim Kumari Sharma, Chairperson Sikkim Music, Drama, Dance and Film Board Shri Tashi Tshering Bhutia and Chairperson Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Board Shri Sanjay Rai.
In his welcome speech, Secretary Culture Department Shri BK Lama welcomed the Hon’ble Minister Shri GT Dhungel and thanked him for him unwavering support and guidance. He also welcomed the dignitaries and congratulated them for their esteemed appointment. He said that with their leadership and with proper coordination, the department aims to scale up and reach greater heights.
Hon’ble Minister, Shri GT Dhungel reiterated his stand that there was no shortcut for hardwork. He stated that punctuality and diligence for one’s work is the best contribution that an employee can give to the state. He extended his best wishes and stated his full cooperation to the Chairpersons and towards strengthening the department’s initiatives and outcome.
The programme also saw cultural dances by the artistes of Culture Department which enthralled all present to welcome the esteemed Chairpersons.
