Tourism and Civil Aviation Department conducts discussion on promotion of Sikkim Tourism post Prime Minister’s visit
Gangtok, April 30(IPR): A meeting to discuss the promotion of Sikkim tourism following the Prime Minister’s visit was chaired by Minister, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr T T Bhutia, at the Conference Hall, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, today.
The meeting’s agenda centred on deliberations to promote and develop Sikkim’s tourism sector, with active involvement of stakeholders and to outline a future course of action.
Addressing the gathering, Minister, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr T T Bhutia, expressed appreciation to the stakeholders for their presence. He highlighted the recognition of Sikkim’s hospitality by the Prime Minister and encouraged all to prepare for a promising future in tourism. Referring to the Prime Minister’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative, he stated that the state must prepare to further enhance its tourism sector. He also responded to the issues raised during the meeting. Additionally, he expressed appreciation to efforts of the Chief Minister in ensuring the success of the Prime Minister’s visit.
In his address, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr C S Rao, highlighted the importance of the promotion of tourism by the Prime Minister’s visit. He emphasised the need for structured planning, exchange of ideas, and a clear roadmap to further strengthen the tourism sector.
In her address, Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Ms Hondala Gyaltsen, expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their continued cooperation and support. She underscored the need to strengthen and improve tourism in the state, noting the anticipated rise in tourist inflow and the importance of preparedness. She also emphasised the promotion of wellness and adventure tourism.
PCE-cum-Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr Neeraj Pradhan, in his remarks, referred to the Prime Minister’s endorsement of Sikkim’s tourism potential. He highlighted that the state must be prepared for effective execution with active support from stakeholders.
