State Government fulfils long-awaited road connectivity demand of remote Tofrok village in Yuksam-Tashiding
Gyalshing, August 30 (IPR): Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation and Commerce & Industries and area MLA of Yuksam-Tashiding, Mr Tshering T Bhutia, today inspected the newly constructed road connecting Lethang village with Tofrok village under Yuksam-Tashiding constituency.
The newly constructed road has brought much-needed connectivity to Upper Lethang and Tofrok villages, which previously had no motorable road access. Villagers had to rely on footpaths and walk long distances to access basic amenities and essential services.
The road was constructed earlier this year under the initiative of the State Government led by Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, as part of the State Government's efforts to improve rural connectivity and strengthen access to remote settlements.
Accompanied by local youths, Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia inspected the newly constructed road and assessed the quality of the construction work and its feasibility for further development.
During the visit, the Minister received a warm welcome from residents. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the State Government and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay for facilitating the long-awaited road connectivity and supporting development initiatives in their village.
The Minister also interacted with villagers, particularly the elderly, and enquired about their health and well-being. He also engaged with local youths and discussed their aspirations, plans and proposals, encouraging them to pursue opportunities in diverse sectors for their personal growth with support from the state government and development of village and society.
The Minister assured the villagers that their genuine concerns and developmental requirements would be taken up on priority and conveyed his commitment to working towards the overall development of the Village.
