Polling materials dispatched for the Bye-Election of 10-Poklok Kamrang Assembly Constituency

Namchi, 20 Oct (IPR): The dispatch of polling materials for the polling teams for 22 polling stations for the Bye-Elections of 10-Poklok Kamrang Assembly Constituency was carried out at the District Administration Centre (DAC) in Namchi today.

The dispatch procedure was overseen by General Observer for 10 Poklok Kamrang, Mr. Alak Kumar Saharia, Returning Officer (RO), Mr. Ragul K., Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), Mr. Satyen Kr. Pradhan, along with Sector Magistrates and Election Agents.

The RO (South) reiterated that the poll timings which is scheduled to be held on 21st October has been notified by Election Commission of India from 7 am to 5 pm and updated that the Presiding Officer will conduct a mock poll at 5:30 am on the Polling day in their respective Polling Stations which is he emphasized is a mandatory procedure for the officer.

Also the candidates or their polling agents are to be present for the Mock Poll in their respective PS, added the RO.

Special provisions and security arrangements have also been taken for the sensitive Polling Stations under 10 Poklok Kamrang.

Additionally, the RO stated that adequate security measures with half section of SSB have been deployed in the Polling Stations identified as critical.

Furthermore, Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, Video Surveillance and Video Viewing Teams are functional in the field to monitor various kinds of activities.

It maybe mentioned here that, the administration on the poll day has made arrangements for volunteers across the constituency to ensure that no voters irrespective of their age and physical infirmities are left behind.

In addition, real time tracking and monitoring of the movement of EVMs and VVPATs through GPS –enabled vehicles is also being done. Three sector police officers and three sector magistrates are on duty for maintaining law and order during the day of the polls.
