Gangtok June 10: Shri S.S. Mishra, IG (Eastern Frontier) Indo Tibetan Border Police, (ITBP) Lucknow, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang today at his residence at Lumsey here in the capital today.
He was accompanied by DIG ITBP Sector HQ, Gangtok Shri K.D. Dwivedi and Commandant (Staff) Sector HQ, Gangtok, Shri A.P. Yadava.
During the call on Shri. Mishra submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Chief Minister seeking his help for establishment of High Altitude Permanent Check Post and other related logistics to ITBP.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured him to clear all the blockades for the establishment and construction of Permanent Border Checkpost in Sikkim.
He informed that National Security is our main priority and also applauded the security arrangements made by ITBP in border areas.
He also added the National Security will not be compromised for small issues. The issues put forth by IG will be taken on top priority he assured.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister has called for a special meeting of Sikkim Government Officials and DIG of ITBP for sorting out the land and other related issues pending with the line departments.
It may be recalled that the ITBP is guarding the post in the Indo China Border in Sikkim
