Mega Health Camp cum awareness for Senior Citizens held at Lachung PHSC under Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana
Lachung, Feb 21: A Mega Health Camp cum awareness programme for Senior Citizens of Lachung was successfully conducted today at Lachung PHSC under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana.
The programme was graced by the Pipon of Lachung, Shri Sonam Tshering Lachungpa, as the Chief Guest.
A dedicated team of doctors from Chungthang PHC was present, and comprehensive health screening was carried out for the elderly. The services included screening for dementia, dental check-up, eye screening, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), orthopaedic examination, and eye and ear check-up.
Riders from Vital Motorcycle volunteered during the programme with their team of doctors and also distributed free medicines to the senior citizens who were screened.
The entire health team of Lachung PHSC extended their full support for the successful conduct of the camp. The Prosthetist and Orthotist from CRC Sikkim, Assam Lingzey, Shri Soboi Aimol and team were also present and distributed assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walking sticks, and other aids to senior citizens in need.
The programme was organised by the Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department. Smt Choden Bhutia, Social Welfare Officer, and Smt Sonam Lhaden Lachungpa, DD-cum-CDPO, facilitated and coordinated the entire programme. Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, and Inspectors were present to ensure smooth screening and to avoid overcrowding.
A total of 99 senior citizens benefited from the programme, making the initiative a significant step towards ensuring the health, dignity, and well-being of the elderly population of Lachung.
