Judicial Magistrate Surveys Road Connectivity in Dzongu
Mangan, June 8 (IPR): Judicial Magistrate, Mangan District Court, Ms Nairitya Sharma, conducted a field survey of road connectivity in Dzongu today, covering the stretch from Sangklang to Laven to assess the status of infrastructure and accessibility in the region.
The survey was attended by ADM Mangan Mr Pema Wangchen Namkarpa, SDM Dzongu Mr Gideon Lepcha, officials from the Roads and Bridges Department, Zilla and Gram Panchayat members of concerned wards and other stakeholders.
During the inspection, the team reviewed the condition of the existing route and examined connectivity challenges faced by residents of the area. Particular attention was given to villages located in the interior parts of Dzongu, where road infrastructure remains limited and access continues to be a concern for local communities.
The visit highlighted the challenges faced by communities living in the remote and mountainous terrain of Dzongu, where limited connectivity often affects daily life, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Residents continue to rely on difficult routes to reach educational institutions, healthcare facilities, administrative offices and markets.
During the survey, Judicial Magistrate Ms Sharma sought detailed updates from the officials of the Roads and Bridges Department regarding the status of road projects and connectivity plans for various Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs). She directed the department to submit a comprehensive report detailing the present condition of roads, the status of proposed and sanctioned projects, and measures being undertaken to improve access to the affected areas.
The inspection brought to focus the need for strengthening infrastructure in remote parts of the district. While Dzongu has witnessed development in several sectors over the years, road connectivity remains an area requiring continued attention to ensure that communities are able to fully benefit from developmental initiatives and government services.
