The Hon'ble Chief Minister in his message recapitulates on the teachings of Lord Buddha being relevant to this day and being kind and compassionate is the essence of his teachings and that we should follow them.
On this day, the Sakyamuni Buddha was born, enlightened and attained nirvana. Saga Dawa is a landmark event for the followers of Mahayana Buddhism and is most sacred among the Buddhist festivals.
