Governor Inspects Flood Recovery and Development Projects in Mangan district

Mangan, September 22 (IPR): Governor Mr Om Prakash Mathur commenced a three-day official visit to Mangan district, today.
Upon his arrival, he was received at Dikchu by Zilla Adhyaksha Gangtok, Mr Balaram Adhikari, District Collector Mr Anant Jain (IAS), DFO (T) Mangan Mr Tseten Wangyal Lachenpa, BDO Rakdong Tintek Mr Puskar Khatiwada, officers, officials and locals.
The Governor visited Phedang in Dzongu constituency, an area affected by recent floods. He engaged with local residents at the bridge site, listened to their grievances caused by the floods and it’s effects on their livelihoods and infrastructure. He assured them of the government's commitment to restoring essential services. He directed officials to expedite recovery measures to support the community's rebuilding efforts.
The Governor then visited the 11th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) led by Commandant Ratan Singh Sonal at Pegong. Recognising the officers' efforts and their critical role in responding to natural disasters, he commended their dedication and resilience in challenging situations.
During the visit, he emphasised the importance of ongoing vigilance and cooperation with local authorities to enhance disaster management capabilities and strengthen border security operations. He urged the officers to maintain readiness and adaptability in order to effectively address future challenges.
